The album is finally finished! I can't believe it...it certainly has been a labor of love. I get the master back tomorrow and then it's off to the manufacturer. I'll get the artwork back on Monday and then I'll be ready to go. I leave for Birmingham next Wednesday for 4 days. This will definitely be the longest gig ever...but very much worth it. The Southern Women's Show is an amazing organization and a perfect fit for this album. I'll be playing right at the entrance where everyone will be coming in..and hopefully sell a few cd's in the process..if you happen to be in Birmingham that weekend stop in and say hello. The cd should be available online through cd baby in about 2 weeks...keep checking back and I'll keep you updated.

The overdubs continue...today we are adding violin to a song I wrote with my friend Margaret...this has turned out to be a really cool song...this is the first song that we have written and it came together really quickly...after today we'll add backing vocals and it should be close to being finished...Here are the lyrics

Pieces Of The Mystery

I’ve seen days so beautiful
I could almost cry
And nights so dark
The stars lose all their light
Do they really disappear
Or is it me
All these shades of sad
Wishing for more than what I have

Chorus:

If I could just remember
Life can be tragic and tender
We’re all walking a thin wire
We fall we learn to hold on
Out of our weakness we become strong
Until one day we see
We’re just pieces
Pieces of the mystery

Can’t say I’m unbreakable
Just look at my heart
I hurt, I heal
I feel it fall apart
On and on it goes
And I don’t know what page I’m turning to
Maybe it’s better that I don’t have a clue

Chorus:

If I could just remember
Life can be tragic and tender
We're all walking a thin wire
We fall we learn to hold on
Out of our weakness we become strong
Until one day we see
We're just pieces
Pieces of the mystery

Bridge:

All this craziness
It’s no coincidence I know
Every step down every road
Took me where I had to go

Repeat Chorus
